About Point Fermin

The Point Fermin region of San Pedro is named after Father Fermín de Francisco Lasuén de Arasqueta, a missionary who founded nine of the Spanish missions in California. Point Fermin is known for its cliffside parks and coastal views. The area borders Gaffey Street and spans from 22nd Street and Crescent Avenue to the coast along the Los Angeles Channel and Point Fermin Park. The natural landscape of this community provides residents with plenty of options for outdoor activities. Point Fermin Park, home of the Point Fermin Lighthouse, spans over 30 acres of coast and offers visitors access to multiple trails, a children’s playground, an outdoor amphitheater, and picnic areas with breathtaking views of Catalina Island. Lookout Point Park is also a great site that provides scenic views of the Port of LA and the coast.
